OSCAR HOWE TRAVELING EXHIBIT AT THE PIPESTONE COUNTY MUSUEM

The Pipestone County Historical Society is currently hosting The Oscar Howe Traveling Exhibit. This exhibit aims to bring Oscar Howe’s life and artistic legacy to community spaces across the region. The exhibit features eight banners that explore the artistic development and biographical details of the Yanktonai Dakota artist who helped to expand the definition and understanding of Native arts. The exhibit will be on display at the Pipestone County Museum from September 16-30. It will then travel to Pipestone Area Schools where it will be on display for students in the MS/HS Library from October 1-15 before returning to the Museum for a second showing October 16–28. The public is invited to visit the Pipestone County Museum during this time to see the exhibit.  Admission to the Museum galleries is $3.00.
